so i have managed to reclaim my blog back from the wee one. it seems like i might be emerging from the constantness and overwhelmingnessosity of being Rachel's mum. Last night i went out for drinks with a friend... on my own... without the baby. She had fun at home with her dad while i went out on the town. That sound sa bit glamorous but it was really great to meet up with kath for a few drinks down on grassmarket. the place is completely different and deserted now the festival is over. Just wait till the students get here and it will be mad!

Good try, Ali! Personal experience suggests that it's quite hard to think of what is interesting in your own life, that isn't closely linked to what your baby is doing. But good luck in trying to reclaim your own life - perhaps you'll do better than me (perhaps you have more of a life to reclaim!)
